Sometimes I wonder if there's any sense of decency left in the world. I wonder if someone's ability to be anonymous is completely shot.
There was an article on Slashdot recently (link to the original article is here) where an Israeli subsidiary of Google opted to give the IP address of a Blogger without a court order. Granted, the story explains that the Blogger in question was accused of slandering Shaarei Tikva councilmen, but without a court order to divulge the identity of the Blogger, why did they do it? Couldn't the folk that run Blogger just taken the Blog offline or spoken with the author, and dealt with it accordingly?
I think this just sets a bad precedent, and I decided that it was better to take my blog elsewhere. I've copied the whole thing local to me, and when I find a place that I can feel comfortable posting without risk of people getting identifying information from the Adminsitrators, then I will put it all there, and write again.
In the mean time, thanks for reading. If you would like to reach me, you know how to do it...
